Feb Koala Crate

Koala Crate February box

I was so glad to see our latest Koala Crate in the mail!  With Silli Jilli being sick this week, she’s been stuck at home all week and is missing school whether she’d like to admit it or not.  There are times when her fever is down that she feels like playing and moving around, but she needs something “new” to break up the monotony of being home for so long.   When she sees her Koala Crate come in the mail, she wants to open it right then.  Here’s what we found when we opened our February crate.

The theme this month is music and rhythm.   Silli Jilli LOVES anything musical, so we were excited, and I was glad to see her sick little self perk up a little bit.  Each crate comes with an instruction card that tells you what you need for each activity.  What I like best about the card is that it also tells how messy each activity is predicted to be and how much adult involvement is needed.  Since she wanted to get busy right away, I could easily glance at the instruction card and know that she could work on the singing trumpet without making too big of a mess for the moment.  Plus, she is a sticker fanatic, so as soon as she saw the music stickers, she was begging for them.

Even though it’s rated as “high” on grownup involvement, the singing trumpet was something she spent a lot of time working on by herself.  I laid out the supplies and she got busy working on applying the stickers.  Please ignore the pj’s and unbrushed hair.  We’ve all been sick this week!  Once she got her stickers on, I added the tissue paper and poked the holes so she could “play” her trumpet.

She not only had fun creating her trumpet, but she’s had lots of enjoyment from “playing” it for us.  This activity tired her out, so we’ll save the other 2 for another day.

I’m so glad that the Kiwi Crate line created the Koala Crate for the younger age group.  The activities included every month are the perfect level for Silli Jilli’s abilities and they hold her interest.  Koala Crate is geared toward ages 3-4.  If you have a little one and you’d like to Join Koala Crate,  I highly recommended it based on our experience.

Citrus Lane

Citrus Lane giveaway ends 12/26

Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved getting mail. Even before I was old enough to get mail for myself, I loved running out to the mailbox every day to bring the mail in to my mom. My sister and I used to fight over who would get to check the mail after we’d been gone on vacation in the summer time. I still love getting mail! Most of the time it’s junk and bills, but I still love checking the mailbox. My love of mail has made me a huge fan of “of the month” clubs. Anything from books, scrapbooking supplies, candy, candles, fruit, etc that comes in the mail every month is exciting to me.

Imagine my excitement when I heard about Citrus Lane. It’s very similar to the “of the month” clubs. Except it’s baby goodies! And right now, I am all about baby goodies. Every month you get a box of 4-5 items that have been picked as the “best of” their kind. These products are worth up to $50, but you get them for only $25 a month! Including shipping! The boxes are themed toward the age and gender of your child so there is always something relevant and useful. In fact, there’s never been anything in my boxes that I haven’t used! It’s a great opportunity to try products that you normally would not pick for yourself and learn about brands that you might not have heard of.

As you can see from my last box, there are all kinds of cool things to surprise you every month.

This is a perfect gift for a mom-to-be, or even a mom of a toddler. Right now you can save 20% on a subscription (code: SAVE20) for yourself or for someone else. It’s good for 20% off a 3, 6, or 12 month gift subscription or can be applied to the first month of a monthly subscription.

I can’t wait to see my December box. I’ve heard rumors about a Stella and Dot bracelet! I’ll be watching my mail and it won’t be long and Baby Girl will be watching for it to!
